A Hershey kiss wedding

May 8, 2008 – 10:50 am by Neil Cowley

Here’s some eye candy from Hershy PA….my destination last weekend
Spraying the up-do
Beth, well Elizabeth the bride having her hair glossed in the Stylist’s seat at LeoFrittelli Salon on East Chocolate Avenue in Hershey. Someone will have to remind me the stylist’s name, but Beth’s choice to leave those wisps was a lovely stylistic element for her face which keyed the overall wedding theme.
Thoughtful space
She had a few spare moments to ponder with her sister Aerial after the up-do was finished.
Ear ringing
A quick pause to fasten her jewelery and she was on to the descent from Monday’s picture.
Descending
I felt it was a daring arrangement she made for the ceremony in Founder’s Hall at the Hershey School, and matched it photographically.
Emotional Gaze
A poignant moment from the ceremony, then a hug.
Reaching
Now as a graduate of the Hershey school, I was even able to find an artifact proving so in the hall - spot her? Senior picture
Scott was waiting paitently…

Scott and the crew

…for the Hershey girl’s kisses to start.

Smirky kiss

Scott’s wardrobe malfunctioned, and Beth was quick to right the situation.
Wardrobe malfunction
We were fortunate enough for this April wedding to have blossoms on the trees.

Holding my breath

Moments of beauty surrounded us, and we succumbed to enjoying them.

Ok - I love stories like this, and I hope the video guy got good audio on this….
Father toasts
So Scott’s dad is giving the toast, and he starts slowing down - saying “I was thinking I would try and find one word that would best describe my son.”
So naturally everyone is one the edge of their seat, as he’s really taking a while - like he’s lost his idea - but then he spits it out: GRAND. Ok, so why draw it out….then he follows up with “I’ve always thought of my son as a graaaand son.” and with that I’d like to present the new couple with this gift; and he pulls out a wrapped box. Beth and Scott unwrap it facing them…and everyone wants to know what was in the box….

Grandson gift
And so Scott & Beth are cajoled by the audience into showing the gift to everyone
Father affection
So amid rolling guffaws, cheers and jeers - dad brings his point home!
Dad love

Since you’re probably wanting to see more from their reception here’s the quick overview:
Wedding cake detail
Now, I don’t generally try to focus completely on the bride and groom, when I get a free moment I like to try and do character portraits of all the guests I can.

And family moments are important and interesting aspects of the reception as well.

One last gentle portrait of the couple kissing in Hershey (ouch I know, but it’s too tempting), but I really want to point out how much Beth’s wisps accentuated her face throughout the day as you can see in the earlier images too.
Hershey Kiss

Enjoy each day like this one, and life will be sweet and seem short.
